FIELD: manual and automatic arc DC welding. SUBSTANCE: converter contains thyristor resonance inverter with backward diodes, main and auxiliary resonance LC circuit, power transformer, rectifier and capacitance output filter. Additional LC circuit is connected into inverter AC diagonal; commutating winding of choke of main LC circuit and two-position switch are connected with it in series. Owing to this converter retains its serviceability in all modes of operating beginning with idling to shorting because pulses of forward and reverse currents are always formed in auxiliary circuit; amplitude and duration of these pulses is stable. While flowing through backward diode of inverter, reverse half-wave of auxiliary circuit cuts off thyristor of inverter ever though reverse half-wave is not formed in main LC circuit.
