FIELD: skimming oil from water surface. SUBSTANCE: at cleaning surface of open water basin, petroleum product film is directed by lips 23 into pockets 8 of oil collecting units which embrace receiving chambers 5 and from there it flows through inlet openings 9 into spaces of receiving chambers. Water-jet pumps 11 installed under outlet pipe unions 10 of receiving chambers deliver water-oil mixture for separation to hydrocyclone installed on floating facility. Under action of centrifugal force, oil is separated from water and mechanical impurities and is directed to collector, and water and mechanical impurities are discharged into another collector.
