FIELD: stirling cycle gas regenerative refrigerating machines. SUBSTANCE: in starting the motor of machine, part of compressible working gas is forced through clearance between sealing ring 3 and inner surface of cylinder 12, thus providing for decompression in compression chamber of machine. Other part of gas flows to gas bottle 2 through valve gear 8, thus shifting sealing ring 3 and reducing the clearance between this ring and inner surface of cylinder 12. As soon as sealing ring reaches the surface of cylinder, compression chamber and crankcase get sealed. When motor is stopped, gas flows from gas bottle 2 to working chambers through small diameter holes provided in body of ball 9 due to difference in pressures, thus causing reverse stroke of sealing ring 3 and restoring clearance between this ring and inner surface of cylinder 12.
