FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: vacuum arc-control chamber has evacuated case built up of cylindrical insulator closed on ends with metal flanges mounting fixed and movable rods. One of rods air-evacuation through channel sealed with hard solder. Channel is made in the form of blind central hole in rod communicating with one or more side holes providing access to case interior on one level over rod perimeter; communicating blind hole and central holes are hermetically filled with mentioned solder and axes of side holes are spaced through angle smaller than $$$ relative to axis of blind central hole, where D is diameter of rod with air-evacuation channel; $$$ is diameter of side holes; $$$ is diameter of blind central hole.
