FIELD: alumina production. SUBSTANCE: bauxite pulp is subjected to heating first in pulp-pulp heaters, and next in steam-pulp heaters using steam generated by first-stage self-evaporator. Pulp is then finally heated and leached in autoclaves. Pulp thus-leached is subjected to self-evaporation in first- and second-stage self-evaporators to yield steam and leached pulp. EFFECT: invention offers considerable savings due to use of heat recovered at various process stages. 1 dwg
