OPTICAL SIGHTING DEVICE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

Abstract RU 2082202 C1

FIELD: open-type collimating sights for small arms and sporting guns, as well as for close combat weapon. SUBSTANCE: sighting device uses fluorescent element 2 placed in a transparent case, replaceable screen 6, projection system consisting of mirror 9 and dichroic plate 11. Tritium light source 4 located inside the spiral of fluorescent element 2 is attached to the inlet end face of the spiral through gradan 3. The outlet end face of the fluorescent element through second quarter-step gradan 5, used as the collimating element, is connected to replaceable screen 6 provided with slots in the form of T-shaped sighting mark 14 and range-finding scale 13. Mirror 9 is installed in the optical axis of second gradan 5 in such a manner that the image of sighting mark 14 or range-finding scale 13 is reflected onto dichroic plate 11, where it is matched with the target image. Wedge 7 for adjusting the brightness of sighting mark 14 and range-finding scale 13 is installed between replaceable screen 6 and mirror 9. Elevation angles are introduced by varying the angular position of dichroic plate 11 with the aid of the elevation angle setting device. The design of the given sight provides for its use within a wide range of illuminance, measurement of range to a standard target and introduction of elevation angles, as well as for independence of contrast and brightness of sighting mark glow on external illuminance. Besides, employment of the quarter-step gradan as a collimating element essentially reduces the mass and dimensional characteristics of the collimating sight. EFFECT: improved design. 3 cl, 1 dwg
