FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has forming member 4 to which torque M(tm) is transmitted, charging branch pipe into which hot mass is supplied. Hot mass is pushed by casing 19 along axis of cylinder of unit 18 and central branch pipe 17 and is further distributed among remaining branch pipes 17. All units 10 are successively charged with hot mass, which is entrained by coils of extruder 23 and supplied through gap 8 into chamber 24, from which mass is radially moved in parallel with wedge-shaped surface 5 and fills volume of deformation zone and pass in tip 2, where mass is compacted, with exit side of tip 2 being closed. Compacted mass is cooled and cut into billets. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 4 cl, 7 dwg
