FIELD: chemical engineering; industrial organic syntheses. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control of nitration processes in semicontinuous and continuous reactors, accidental conditions of which may be accompanied with spontaneous heating and release of reaction mass. Invention may find use in varnish and dye industry when nitrating organic substances of anilide series to prepare pigments useful both in preparing aniline dyes and as varnish additives. Essence of invention consists in preventing decrease in yield of desired product and increase in reliability of process control system in the event reaction mass is exhausted in regard to nitrogen oxides' content and enriched in non- reacted nitric acid detected from increase in conductivity of reaction mass and also from drop in gas phase temperature and decreased depression in reactor exhaust system. Information signals are treated according to logical majority principle "2 form 3" and anti-accident control signal for forced pulse loading of 30-40% of potassium or sodium nitrate into reactor is developed. EFFECT: improved automation of process resulting in increased yield of reaction product and improved reliability of process. 2 cl, 4 dwg
