FIELD: industrial organic syntheses. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method in which monoisobutyrate ester is isolated in presence of aqueous alkali solution (catalyst). In the method of invention, 95%-purity monoisobutyrate is isolated with yield more than 75 wt.-% using rectification with separating agent - 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3- pentanediol diisobutyrate at weight ratio of separating agent to an admixture most difficultly separable from desired product in condensate composition equal to 1:(3-15). Rectification of condensate is effected first in column under column top pressure 500-1500 mm Hg and column bottom temperature 150-190 C with releasing nonreacted isobutyraldehyde from the top of column and subsequent rectification of formed still product under column top pressure 5-100 mm Hg and column bottom temperature 150-250 C with taking off desired product from the top of column or as side-cut distillate and withdrawing separating agent as still residue. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process. 2 cl
