FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: iron-cobalt cake or concentrate is subjected to leaching with ammonia-carbonate solution at 105-120 C for 2.0-2.5 hours. Separation of cobalt and nickel is carried out by sorption, recovery of cobalt from rafinate and nickel from eluated solution are carried out by distillation of ammonia and carbon dioxide which are recycled for preparation of ammonia-carbonate solution for leaching and washing the sorbent.
