FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: steel containing carbon, silicon, chrome, manganese, chemical element promoting the intensification of nitriding process, vanadium and iron has additionally calcium at the following ratio of components, wt.-%: carbon, 0.55-0.65; silicon, 0.80-1.10; chrome, 1.60-1.90; manganese, 0.40-0.70; chemical element promoting the intensification of nitriding process, 0.40-0.80; vanadium, 0.15-0.30; calcium 0.001-0.0025; and iron, the balance. Condition: ratio of silicon content to chemical element promoting the intensification of nitriding process = 1.35-2.0.
