APPARATUS FOR UNDERWATER MOVEMENT OF SWIMMER Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

Abstract RU 2083251 C1

FIELD: underwater swimming equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has body with shoulder stops secured in front part and depth rudders mounted on horizontal shaft and separately connected through respective tie-rods with handle. Fin-shaped propeller is mounted in rear part of apparatus and is provided with carrier lever, which is connected with foot pedal mechanism. Planar stabilizer fixed along body is provided with recess made in rear part and adapted to receive propeller lever. When stabilizer is in horizontal position, fin is moved to horizontal position and may be shifted in vertical plane. When stabilizer is displaced to vertical position, fin is shifted to vertical position so that lever may oscillate in horizontal plane either. EFFECT: improved maneuverability of apparatus and reduced consumption of swimmer muscle energy. 3 cl, 4 dwg
