FIELD: ceramic industry. SUBSTANCE: claimed invention describes process for whitening clay-containing ceramic stock (kaolins, porcelain stone, porcelain masses, glaze suspensions). Said process comprises deferrization of ceramic stock using microorganisms. The microorganisms include natural microflora of the stock which is activated by addition of nutrient medium and subsequently maintained at room temperature for 5-35 days. Iron compounds are separated by magnetic separation, and the residue is washed with 0.1 M solution of ammonium oxalate. Treatment gives whiteness by 11-15% greater, and total iron content is reduced by 14-48%. EFFECT: more efficient whitening process.
