FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the ceramic industry and specifically to methods of producing white porcelain, for example household porcelain. The method of producing high-whiteness hard porcelain involves preparation of porcelain mass in form of a homogeneous suspension consisting of kaolin, clay, quartz sand and pegmatite, bringing said suspension to given degree of moisture, ageing the formed crust and breaking it up until obtaining slurry with given moisture, viscosity and density. Moulded articles are then made from the obtained slurry via plastic moulding or slurry casting followed by drying at temperature 105-110°C, first firing at temperature 900-920°C, glasing, final (glase) firing at temperature 1320-1350°C and artistic processing. The during the breaking up process, the crust of the porcelain mass is mixed with aqueous solution of an electrolyte or a mixture of electrolytes with addition of neodymium oxide Nd2O3, taken in amount of 0.20-0.80 wt % in the overall composition of the porcelain mass, characterised by the following ratio of components in wt % for production of porcelain articles: kaolin 41.41-41.80; clay 6.06-6.12; quartz sand 23.47-23.68; pegmatite 28.05-28.34; neodymium oxide Nd2O3 0.20-0.80; aqueous solution of an electrolyte or mixture of electrolytes 0.05-0.30.
EFFECT: high degree of whiteness of articles.
