FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: novocaine substance is used for infiltrating, conducting, epidural and cerebrospinal anesthesia for vagosypmathetic and paranephralic blockage, to making the effect of main narcotic agents more potent during general anesthesia, for localizing pain in case of ulcerous condition of the stomach, duodenum, hemorrhoid, and the like. In order to simplify the process, make is technologically more efficient and improve quality of the resulting novocaine, acylation is carried out by supplying dosed amounts of b-diethyl aminoethanol during agitation for 0.5-2.0 hours. Reduction is carried out at hydrogen pressure of no higher than 50 atm gauge and at temperature of not higher than 120 C using palladium catalyst, and the desired product is recovered by distilling off solvent or by alkalizing said product to pH of 0.5-10 followed by filtration of the precipitated deposit. The inert solvent is chlorobenzene, p-xylene or toluene. the claimed invention makes it possible to simplify the process by reducing the number of stages, to increase yield of the desired product to 85% and also to avoid sewage. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process.
