FIELD: mechanical engineering; manufacture of epicycloid wheels by generation. SUBSTANCE: device has tool-blank generating mechanism consisting of motor 1, gear wheels 2, 3, 4 and face-plate 5 on which tool drive is installed. Drive has motor 6 and gear train 7, 8. Cylindrical milling cutter 9 is used as tool. Diameter of cutter is equal to diameter of cog of mated lantern wheel. Axis of rotation of face-plate 5 is located at distance r3 from axis of blank 10 where r3 is radius of centers of cogs of paired lantern wheels relative to cut epicycloid wheel. Adjustment of r3 is provided by changing wheels 2, 3, 4. Axis of tool 9 is located at distance 1 from axis of face-plate 5 where 1 is eccentricity of noncentroidal lantern wheel gearing.
