FIELD: chemical technology, more specifically isolation of commercial aniline by rectification from hydrogenation products. SUBSTANCE: claimed process comprises separating aniline layer by lamination, removing water and benzene by heteroazeotropic rectification, isolating pure aniline by vacuum rectification. Peculiar feature of the claimed process is gradually decreasing the amount of recovered azeotrope from 0.3-0.4 to 0.1 as benzene concentration is monotonically reduced from 5 to 0.7% and as soon as the concentration reaches 0.7%, the amount of recovered azeotrope is spasmodically increased to 0.2- 0.3, and as benzene concentration further decreases the amount of recovered azeotrope is reduced to 0.07-0.15. EFFECT: more efficient purification process. 1 dwg
