FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to designs of foundations in the form of hyperbolic shells. Enhanced baring capacity of foundation is achieved due to better conditions of static work under vertical load with large eccentricities. Manufacture and erection of such foundations are simplified. Foundation for support has sectional supporting members made up of shells with their surfaces representing single-leaf hyperbolic paraboloids (gypares) with straightline horizontal edges which form supporting contour of foundation, and incline edges connected to each other from supporting contour to peak of foundation. Sectional supporting members are made in the form of two gypares located symmetrically in plan. Two lower horizontal edges of each of them form together endless rectangular or rhombic supporting contour of foundation. EFFECT: high efficiency. 4 cl, 14 dwg
