FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: magnetically controlled bearing unit is provided with a permanent magnet having pole tips and mounted inside the housing. Between the tips is a controllable electromagnet that straddle the shaft. Inside the space between the bearing member and shaft is a magnetic liquid provided with rolling members the radius of which is less than the difference of the radii of the opening in the supporting member and journal of the shaft.
