SUBSTANCE: device has receiving and transmitting light conduits enclosed in cylindrical hollow housing inside which piston is mounted for vertical motion. Piston is provided with corner reflector fitted on its surface. Input and output of radiation are interconnected by means of optical closing device made in the form of disc with ports whose outer surface is coated with reflecting layer. Output of photodetector is connected with input of one-shot multivibrator whose output is connected with input of radiation source amplifier and input of frequency meter whose output is connected with input of computer.
