INVALID CHAIR WITH ELECTROMECHANICAL DRIVE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; vehicles for disabled people. SUBSTANCE: invalid chair with electromechanical drive has device providing its movement up and down the stairs, body with backrest, seat and armrests, two steerable front wheels and two driven and steerable rear wheels. Device providing movement up and down the stairs has framework in form of box in its lower portion accommodating vertical telescopic supports in corners. Supports are coupled through pillars with armrests on which steering clutches are mounted at front end, and threaded bushings for hinge-coupling with folding upper canopy mechanism, at the rear end of armrest. Telescopic shafts coupled with bottom bracket mechanisms through links are arranged crosswise in box sides. Bottom brackets is installed on shafts longitudinally within the limits of box. Shafts are fitted in parallel flanges (brackets) by end sections of links through hinge joints and are coupled by catches operated by pusher. Lifting/lowering shaft, its clamp-like posts directed forward relative to body, with front wheels fitted on steerable axles carrying parallel contact plates of steering gear, and transmission posts directed opposite to each other are connected with gears arranged at inner sides of flanges, and are connected with idler gears through rockers installed at other side. Idler gears are installed on axial arms passing through flanges. Drive sheaves of driving wheel posts are secured on ends of driving shaft links getting into transmission post space. Links are hinge-connected with inner spiral spring. EFFECT: provision of closed automated device convenient in operation. 16 cl, 25 dwg
