FIELD: equipment for industrial organic syntheses. SUBSTANCE: radial reactor is, in particular, suitable for conducting dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene into styrene. Reactor has domes for input and output channels contained in annular barrel with catalyst. Domes are shaped in a special manner so that their radii are determined from relationships: , where is specific area of input channel; rin current radius of input channel dome; r1 inner radius of annular barrel; y = x/l is relative coordinate; x distance from apex of input channel dome to arbitrary cross-section of reactor; l length of input and output channels; λ1 coefficient of hydraulic resistance of input channel; is specific area of output channel; rout current radius of output channel dome; r2 outer radius of annular barrel; r3 inner radius of reactor casing; and λ2 coefficient of hydraulic resistance of output channel. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of reactor process because of uniform distribution of reaction mixture stream across the catalyst at constant static pressure in reactor channels. 1 dwg
