FIELD: chemical photographic industry. SUBSTANCE: silver bromide/iodide photographic emulsions with average size of microcrystals 0.15-0.4 mcm are prepared by way of controlled two-jet emulsification at constant pBr value - 3-3.4 and pH 8-10.5 with simultaneous introduction into ammonia-containing water-gelatin solution, with constant rate, of silver nitrate aqueous solution and aqueous solution containing 143.1-150.5 g/l potassium bromide, 4.2- 11.6 g/l potassium iodide, 0.03-0.3 g/l sodium thiosulfate, and water to 1 l.
