FIELD: mining engineering; storage of biologically harmful, radioactive, and toxic wastes in chemical industry and other industries. SUBSTANCE: method involves making cavity in ground, its filling with wastes, and covering with layer of water- tight materials. Cavity bottom is located above water-resistant bed, and side closed-contour shield is made around cavity and embedded in water- resistant bed. Holes are drilled between cavity and side shield contour to pump out liquid through them. Liquid level in storage is maintained below cavity bottom.
