FIELD: chemistry of polymers, more particularly preparation of stabilizing mixtures for polyvinyl chloride based polymeric materials. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes method of preparing stabilizers for polymers by reacting carboxylic acids with metal oxides or hydroxides in the presence of salt formation process activating additives during heating operation. The additives include chloroparaffins, the ratio of components being as follows (wt%): 5-50 carboxylic acids; 1-30 metal oxides or hydroxides, and the additive balance. Chloroparaffins and carboxylic acids are first charge into reactor, the whole is heated to first stage temperature of 60-100 C, metal oxides or hydroxides are then charged, the whole is heated to second stage temperature of 80-115 C, maintained at said temperature for 20-40 minutes, final stabilizer is cooled in reactor to 60-90 C, discharged into container till it completely cools to ambient temperature.
