FIELD: petroleum processing and petrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: demercaptanization is carried out by way of treating raw material with air oxygen in alkali solution in presence of cobalt dichlorodihydroxydisulfophthalocyanine in amount (0.5-2.5) x 10-5 wt % based on petroleum or gas condensate. Catalyst is introduced into raw material continuously in the form of catalyst complex in alkali solution and process is carried out at 40-60 C and pressure 1.0-1.4 MPa. In addition, catalyst complex is used prepared by dissolving above-mentioned cobalt salt preliminarily in 1% aqueous alkali followed by increasing alkali concentration to 20 wt %.
