FIELD: petroleum processing and petrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: method is destined for refining gasoline distillates containing, along with sulfur compounds, also unsaturated and aromatic hydrocarbons. Method includes preliminary contact of initial petroleum material at 50-160 C with alumina taken in amount 5-30% based on total hydrogenation catalyst volume and subsequent two-step hydrogenation in presence of alumino-cobalt- molybdenum catalyst at 200-280 C in the first step and 260-380 C in the second step. Hydrogenation process is carried out at pressure 3-5 MPa and volume velocity of raw material supply 0.5-3.0 h-1 in each reaction step. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process. 2 cl
