FIELD: steel heat treatment, hardening of tubular products, particular, hollow rollers of antifriction bearings. SUBSTANCE: the offered method includes surface heating with high specific power up to temperature of external surface exceeding the value of critical points A1 for eutectoid and hypereutectoid steel and A3 for hypoeutectoid steel. Then heating is discontinued and products are held before beginning of hardening cooling for heating the internal surface up to minimal temperatures ensuring its hardening. High temperature of external surface ensures high contact endurance of hardened steel, and low temperature of hardening of internal surface decreases hardness penetration of steel in the given zone and allows attaining of bulk-surface hardening effect.
