FIELD: electrical engineering; relay protection of power transmission lines with taps to transformer substations. SUBSTANCE: method is characterized in that high-frequency signals proportional to reactive components of forward and reverse sequence currents of line under protection are shaped. These signals are used to dispense with operations of comparing present values of currents and shaping active component of current. Method is implemented by using three-phase circuit arrangement. EFFECT: simplified procedure, improved functional reliability, improved speed of response due to high frequency of received signals and suppression filters. 2 cl, 3 dwg
