FIELD: manufacture of noncircular products having, at least, one surface parallel to their axis. SUBSTANCE: method includes forming of product with, at least, one inclined surface to make acute angle with the product axis. Projection of contour of the smallest cross-section of this surface onto plane perpendicular to product axis is located inside contour of cutting contour of trimming tool. Trimming is carried out in two steps: first, product is turned by pressing on the mentioned above inclined surface by cutting edge so that mentioned above projection becomes parallel to contour of cutting edge; and then, excessive material is trimmed.
