FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of cutting materials and can be used for cutting a dross stamped forgings from titanium alloys produced by metal forming. Cutting method dross stamped forgings from titanium alloys includes arrangement of a forged piece on supports of a working table of a cutting unit, mutual positioning of a forged piece and a working tool, a cutting operation by means of a laser with application of process gas. Operation of cutting is performed by means of continuous ytterbium fiber laser at power of 15–50 kW, process gas flow rate is 60–90 m3/h and its pressure of 20–30 bar. Cutting speed is maintained at 600–1,200 mm/min. Process gas used is argon and/or nitrogen. Trimming is carried out at thickness dross up to 55 mm. Movement of working tool is carried out in automatic mode according to preset program.
EFFECT: result is increased efficiency of cutting with increased accuracy of geometrical sizes of processed forged pieces, as well as reduced non-return losses of metal due to reduced width of cut while maintaining possibility of involving wastes into remelting.
