FIELD: biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: new strain of Aspergillus niger VKPM F-714 is obtained by genetic-selection methods and on the base of mutagenesis by UV-irradiation. Output of new strain with respect to citric acid production is more by 5.3-12.8% and sugar conversion to citric acid - by 4.9-10.5% as compared with that of the strain-analog. Strain is resistant to molasses medium components, produces lower amount of melanines (beige color of conidia). EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of citric acid production, simplified technology. 1 tbl
