FIELD: sealing devices, manufacture of fittings. SUBSTANCE: packing torsion ring is made as a resilient ring having a cross-section in the form of coupled half-rings with rods disposed between them. When the half-rings come in contact with the surface to be sealed, the rods twist the ring material thus pressing the packing ring to the sealed surface.
