The surface of the base and cap joint passes through the slot, and the fairing base is made up of two parts - the front and rear ones with the joint plane arranged under the craddle-trunnion stud; the distance between the end of the cap slot and the hinge pin exceeds the distance between the weapon front end and the hinge pin.
