METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF VASOMOTOR RHINITIS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; rhinolaryngology. SUBSTANCE: inventively novel method for treatment of vasomotor rhinitis is intended for restoring nasal breathing due to elimination of edema of nose mucosa by subjecting latter to dehydration. Nose mucosa is dehydrated by practising deep cuts in mucosa of conchae nasals inferiors, in area of reflexogenic points located in anterior, medium and posterior segments of mucosa. Cuts are effected by spear-like instrument, once, down to bone. As result, bleeding is of short duration, nose mucosa is sharply reduced in size, thereby improving nasal breathing. Subsequent general desensibilizing therapy, in combination with physiotherapy, makes it possible to consolidate treatment results and to heal patients from vasomotor rhinitis. EFFECT: when used to treat 200 vasomotor rhinitis cases, method proved its high efficiency and safety; no recurrent nasal bleeding was observed; positive effect was stable and durable; more than 10 years. 2 dwg
