FIELD: painting of paper with water colors or printing water-base inks. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has roll, paper tape running about supporting roll, which creates counterpressure for color roll. Apparatus is provided with group of other rolls positioned in succession and adapted for transfer of colors from reservoir to color roll in an amount sufficient for painting paper tape and small enough to eliminate necessity for further drying process. Group of rolls is driven for rotation by paper tape and consists of at least five rolls. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and reduced production cost. 5 cl, 9 dwg
