FIELD: geodetic instrumentation for construction and erection work during levelling of areas, vertical planning of localities, assembly of prefabricated members of buildings. SUBSTANCE: device setting light plane is fitted with unit 5 of turn of light plane mounted on body 1 uniaxial to optical axis of forming system 3 with output objective lens 4 collimating radiation of laser 2. Unit of turn has movable joint with unit scanning laser light beam and is anchored on it by means of locating arm 13. Unit 5 is manufactures in the form of frame 9 made fast to mobile part of bearing 8 which immobile part is installed on body 1 uniaxially to optical axis of forming system 3. Unit is equipped with balancing system. Unit scanning laser light beam to plane is fabricated in the form of clear rod 6 of cylindrical shape anchored in holder 7 and mounted for turning with reference to optical axis of forming system 3 by means of unit 5 of turn. Diameter of base of rod 6 does not exceed free aperture of output objective lens 4 of forming system 3 and axis of rod 6 is orthogonal to its optical axis. Unit scanning laser light beam to plane can be made in the form of separable extension piece put on source of collimated laser radiation.
