METHOD OF EXAMINATION OF DEFECTS OF PIPE-LINES AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: intrapipe detection of flaws of pipe-line, in particular, gas pipe-lines. SUBSTANCE: method is based on movement of device with measurement and recording equipment inside pipe under pressure of gas. For realization of method primary parameters of indications of defects of pipe material of pipe-line, primary parameters of depth of lying of pipe-line and type of medium bordering on it and parameters of defects of geometric characteristics of internal surface of pipe are measured simultaneously. Parameters are recorded in one system of coordinates which is determined by means of measurement of velocity of movement of device. Ultrasonic polyharmonic oscillations are emitted when measuring indications of defects of material of pipe with the aid of contact wheeled sensors, echoes are received in frequency ranges corresponding to various zones over thickness of pipe, their frequency and phase characteristics are found. While determining depth of lying of pipe-line and type of medium bordering on it pipe-line is probed with frequency-modulated signals with the use of contact converter, impedance characteristics of load of converter are found. For determination of geometric characteristics pipe is scanned over circumference by ultrasonic beam, distance to internal surface of pipe is determined by time of reception of echoes. Device for complementation of method incorporates pickup mounted on device. Pickups are connected to measurement channels determining above- mentioned parameters. Outputs of channels are connected to recorder. Control unit carries out synchronization of operation of device. EFFECT: enhanced authenticity of method and device. 15 cl, 13 dwg
