METHOD OF PROXIMITY DETECTION OF HYDRAZINE IN AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: analytical control of environmental objects for content of hydrazine. SUBSTANCE: method is based on extraction of hydrazine from aqueous solution in the form of hydrazone into gas phase with the aid of process of gas extraction followed by detection of hydrazine in air by linear-coloristic method, i.e. with the use of indication tubes usually employed to detect hydrazine in air of industrial buildings. Method of proximity detection of hydrazine in aqueous solutions consists in addition of solution of formaldehyde into analyzed sample, sodium hydroxide and dibutylphtalate with their mass proportion 1:(0.0005-0.001):(0.3-0.4):(0.01-0.05), correspondingly. Hydrazine is blown away by air at rate 0.5-1.0 l/min at temperature 10-40 C and hydrazine is detected in gas phase. EFFECT: improved efficiency and reliability. 3 tbl
