FIELD: engineering cybernetics. SUBSTANCE: method involves shaping and correction of identifying standards (training), comparison of identifying standards with signal being analyzed, shaping of entity condition estimates, comparison of estimates with desired Identification threshold. All signals showing entity state are normalized, first-level optimizing standard is shaped, identifying standards are shaped during training stage including validity based on normalized signals, first-level optimizing standard is shaped to serve as basis for shaping second-level optimized identifying standards from first-level identifying standards, and during identifying stage, entity condition signal is optimized and compared with each optimized Identifying standard of respective level thereby obtaining entity state estimates which are compared with desired identification threshold to separate subset of identifying standards used as basis for repeating optimization of identifying standards and analyzed signal followed by identification of entity state until identification result meets specified criterion of validity or failure. Normalizing, shaping, and correction of identifying standards, optimization and comparison of signals and standards are made in Euclidean vector space. EFFECT: improved identification accuracy. 6 cl, 6 dwg, 5 tbl
