FIELD: deformation of individual's keratin fibers, in particular, hairs. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing mechanical tightening of fibers and treating with gas and water steam. Prior to mechanical tightening, fibers are covered with composition containing at least one polysaccharide and/or one derivative of polysaccharide. Gas treatment is conducted for about 2 min at temperature at least equal to 75 C with following cooling and releasing fibers from mechanical tightening. Treating gas has temperature at least equal to 85 C, in particular within the range of 85-150 C. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of hairs. 12 cl
