FIELD: monitoring of optical density of media partially absorbing or scattering the optical radiation, and monitoring of quantities that are simply bound up with optical density. SUBSTANCE: the device has a source of optical radiation, branched irregular light conduit, measuring cuvette, cuvette with standard medium or its simulator, two photoelectric transducers- detectors connected to a narrow-band amplifier via controlled electronic switches, amplitude detector, phase-sensitive detector consisting of two controlled electronic switches and two analog storages and a recorder. The device also uses an electronic switch control pulse shaper consisting of an intermediate divider, D-flip-flop and two NOR gates. EFFECT: improved design. 1 dwg
