FIELD: rocketry. SUBSTANCE: in measurement of rocket engine thrust momentum the primary transducer is influenced through the longitudinal friction clutch; on completion of operation of the rocket engine the displacement of the friction clutch relative to the initial position is measured that corresponds to the moment of exceeding of the nominal value of the primary transducer by the rocket engine thrust. Rocket engine thrust momentum Ir is determined by formula: , where Ip.t. - integral value of thrust momentum measured by the primary transducer; M - mass of the movable parts moving relative to the fixed part of the friction clutch; Fjr - friction force of the friction clutch corresponding to the nominal value of the primary transducer; L-value of longitudinal displacement of the friction clutch relative to the initial position. The test bench has a support, primary transducer connected to a recorder, fasteners of the engine under test, double-acting friction clutch installed between the support and rocket engine under test, and a meter of friction clutch longitudinal displacement. The friction clutch may be made in the form of a collet enveloping the rod and engaged with it on the exterior surface, and the meter of friction clutch longitudinal displacement is made in the form of metering divisions on the rod. Besides, the friction clutch may be made in the form of a piston engaged with the cylindrical guide on the exterior surface; the area of engagement is made of friction material.
