FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: process consists in measurement of number of alpha disintegrations in examined air volume. Electric field is formed in specified volume with the use of two electrodes. Daughter products of radon are accumulated on collecting electrode which presents filament produced from polymer, for instance, polycarbonate, cellulose nitrate or cellulose acetate. After exposure filament is subjected to etching, number of etched tracks of alpha particles is measured and used to determine concentration of radon in air with allowance for exposure time. Electric field between electrodes can be created with the aid of source of alpha particles placed on current conductive backing and irradiating current conductive plate. EFFECT: enhanced authenticity of process. 2 cl
