FIELD: photographic industry. SUBSTANCE: silver bromide/iodide photographic emulsions are manufactured using simultaneously introducing into ammonia-containing water-gelatin solution silver nitrate aqueous solution and KBr/KI aqueous solution followed by separating solid phase, washing precipitate, dispersing it in water- gelatin solution, adding sodium thiosulfate, sodium benzenesulfinate, and gold compound. According to invention, as gold compound, gold thiocyanate is used in quantity 2.18.10-5-4,36.10-5 mol per 1 mol of silver halide and, 0.5-15 min before gold thiocyanate is added or simultaneously with gold compound addition, emulsion is supplemented with 5-methyl-7- hydroxy-1,3,4-triazaindolicin in quantity 0,81.10-3-3,24.10-3 mol per 1 mol of silver halide.
