APPARATUS FOR FEEDING BULK MATERIAL TO ANIMALS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture, in particular, feeding litter to animals. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has fan 1, electric heater 2 and air duct 3 with arced regulating gates 4, and accumulating hopper 5 with auger-type conveyor 6. End part of auger is provided with loosener 7 made in the form of impeller. Conveyor 6 connects accumulating hopper 5 with discharge chamber 8. Drive beater 9 is positioned in lower part of discharge chamber 8. Ground litter material is delivered from grinder 11 into accumulating hopper 5. Litter material in lower part of discharge chamber 8 is compacted by auger-type conveyor 6 in front of loosener 7. Such arrangement and construction allows outburst of air from air duct into accumulating hopper 5 to be prevented. When compacted material is discharged from conveyor 6, it is loosened by loosener 7 and beater 9. Loosened litter material is directed into air duct 3 and conveyed by air flow delivered by fan 1 to animal keeping zone.
