METHOD FOR TOTAL RHINOPLASTY Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; oncology; otorhinolaryngology; stomatology; plastic surgery; reconstructive surgery in patients having gross nose defect caused by malignant process, operation, radiotherapy, trauma or venereal disease. SUBSTANCE: in order to restore in single operation external nose and to form nose tip and medial edges of nostrils in presence of gross defect of nose, skin graft is tailored out of upper lip, followed by tipping over skin graft upwards to form nasal septum. Next skin graft tailored in advance from forehead skin is attached by suturing to central part of wound from nose bridge. Both skin grafts are sutured together with internal nasal septum. Finally, all skin grafts are sutured together with skin forming edges of nose defect to form thereby nose wings and nostrils. EFFECT: single-step operation eliminates defect of external nose; restored natural nasal breathing; patient acquires respectable appearance. 4 dwg
