FIELD: space engineering; control of space vehicle and orbital station attitude. SUBSTANCE: method of control of re-orientation of space vehicle includes turn of unsymmetrical body over trajectory of free angular motion; direction of space vehicle angular momentum vector in inertial space is constant during entire period of turn. System used for realization of this method determines parameters of entry trajectory; vector and angle of turn; system employs method of successive approximations and boundary-value problem; determination of such initial angular velocity that space vehicle is shifted from initial attitude preset by quanternion Λн due to Euler-Poinsot rotation of space vehicle to attitude preset by quanternion Λк in a definite period of time. After imparting this angular velocity to object and free rotation, damping moment is applied when space vehicle approaches final position. System is provided with measuring units and computers.
