FIELD: food, sugar, chemical, petroleum industry, in particular, for measuring concentration of solids in liquid and gel-like materials. SUBSTANCE: device has transducer which is designed as lens sensitive element, emitter, photodetectors and temperature gauge which checks temperature of material under investigation. In addition device has electronic unit which runs operations of amplification of signals from photodetectors, light flow stabilization, compensation of dissipation in material, indication of required refraction rate. Sensitive element of transducer is designed as convexo-concave or convexo-convex lens which convex side is directed towards material. Emitter and photodetectors are located on another side of lens. Emitter and measuring photodetector are located in conjugate focuses at angle of 11-16 degrees with respect to optical axis of sensitive element. When convexo-concave lens is used, photodetector for stabilization of emitter light flow is located in focus of concave surface of lens which is conjugate to emitter. Photodetector for dissipation compensation is located on optical axis. When convexo-convex lens is used, photodetector for dissipation compensation is located at angle of 6-10 degrees with respect to optical axis of sensitive element on side of measuring photodetector in plane which runs through emitter and optical axis of lens. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 2 cl, 3 dwg
