FIELD: power supply for aerological radiosondes. SUBSTANCE: battery has container accommodating series-connected sections arranged on same plane. Section is built up of storage cells incorporating composite cathode, anode made of manganine alloy, electrolyte-carrying separator, and electrolyte-tight conducting separator. Adjacent sections are interconnected by means of common terminal electrodes provided with slits aligned with clearances between sections; slit width should be better chosen between 1 and 4 mm and its length should be 80-90% of width of common terminal electrode. Through slots are made in one of porous polystyrene container walls which are located above slits and have identical geometry with the latter; through slot area does not exceed that of slit in common terminal electrode. EFFECT: reduced impact strength of battery and concentrated masses distributed according to number of sections which prevents damage to fast flying vehicle in case of its collision with radiosonde in upper atmosphere as battery collapses into small parts. 7 cl, 5 dwg
